Re:Think
At a time of flux, our instinct is to cling to the known. Ten new artists come together to reconsider their practice and their world.
Re:Think is about taking a second look.
Re:Think is a group show of seven artists in their early practice, who all share an interest in the notion of critically regarding different aspects of our contemporary society. In the context of an economic crisis, where instability and change seem to have overtaken most spheres of our surroundings, Re:Think suggests different perspectives and interpretations of how artists' practice can evolve within such a context. Through sculpture, video, prints and conversation, the artists all engage with the idea of revising and revisiting existing patterns of our society. The work can be seen as experimental to a certain extent but is being shown in a very conventional space, a gallery.
Alongside the notion of change and reconsideration of our surroundings, the realisation of the show has been made as eco-friendly as possible. A lot of the material used for the art works is recycled and all press-related information has been printed on recycled paper.
The show is structured as a pathway leading the viewer through the works according to the themes they are considering. Re:Think is an artist-run project: Jack Burton is the curator, Yolande Burgin the gallerist and Anne Charlotte Morgenstein the PR.
